Examines errors of engineering that have caused disasters, including the MBM Grand Hotel fire (Las Vegas, Nov 1980), L'Ambiance Plaza collapse, R16 and N1 Soviet space failures, Point Pleasant "Silver" Bridge collapse (Ohio to West Virginia, 1967), Lacey B. Merle Bridge collapse (Seattle, Nov. 1990), design flaws of the Chevrolet Corvair and Ford Pinto which lead to the Uniform Auto Safety Standards and the National Highway Traffic Safety Commission, and the Comet Jet Airliner crashes that lead to Comet 4 success.
